Lambie wins!

As expected, Palmer United Party's Jacqui Lambie declared winner of final Tasmanian Senate seat.

Finally announced result:
2 LIB
2 ALP
1 GRN
1 PUP

  1. If WA comes good PUP will have 3 senators and 1 HOR member. Clive Palmer will roll through the doors with an entourage although his senators won't take theirs seats until July next year.

    1. Good outcome for the modelling consensus. Maybe some of us (like, er, me) should have been more confident PUP had it in the bag, but then again, given a 244 vote margin, maybe not!

    2. I had slightly misapplied a Pirate surplus, and got a little surprised by the size of the PUP/LDP margin. But result is as expected.

    The double dissolution is looking less likely now, but never mind, what would these votes have created with 12 senators per state?
